29 August 2023 – ACEN, the listed energy platform of the Ayala group, earned back-to-back top recognitions at the 15th Global CSR and ESG Summit and Awards held in Da Nang, Vietnam for championing a comprehensive and innovative Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) & Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) strategy beyond compliance.
ACEN bagged the Platinum award for the Best Country Excellence (Philippines) category and the Gold award for the CSR & ESG Leadership category, remaining true to its position at the forefront of sustainability in Asia Pacific.
The theme for this year’s summit, “Driving Transformational Change Beyond Greenwashing”, focused on inspiring participants to spark conversations on transformational CSR & ESG strategies beyond conventional thinking.
The conference also addressed the challenges facing the world today and the need for climate-friendly solutions and technologies, including electric vehicles, high tech farming, sustainable supply chains and nature-based solutions.
Irene Maranan, vice president and head of corporate communications and sustainability, said: “That the recognitions are global in terms of scale speaks volumes on how far ACEN has come in its transformational sustainability journey. Among ACEN’s notable sustainability milestones that helped merit the awards are its robust Net Zero roadmap with reduction targets aligned with the GHG Protocol and 1.5°C climate science pathway, and the completion of the world’s first market-based Energy Transition Mechanism (ETM) deal.
The annual Global CSR & ESG Summit and Awards is Asia’s most prestigious award-giving body for CSR and ESG which honors the world’s best corporations for its CSR & ESG strategies.
