22 June 2017 – AC Energy Holdings Inc. will provide renewable power supply in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), particularly for its office and retail properties as part of its plans upon entering the retail energy business (RES) under the retail competition and open access (RCOA) regime.
The electricity supply agreement with the Fort Bonifacio Development Corp. (FBDC), BGC’s developer, will include power generation for eight of the company’s office and retail spaces such as the BGC Corporate Center, Bonifacio High Street, Bonifacio Stopover, Bonifacio Technology Center, Central Square, and Park Triangle.
“This partnership with AC Energy is part of our commitment to maintain a progressive yet environmentally sustainable community. This is just the first eight buildings. We intend to do the same for our future developments and hope to encourage other BGC locators to follow suit,” Manny Blas, BGC’s Head of Commercial Operations, said.
Furthermore, AC Energy’s supply is issued with Certified Emission Reductions (CER) certificates from renewable energy plants, to ensure that electricity purchased by the property group is carbon neutral.
Last year, AC Energy acquired its RES license from the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) with initiatives to supply over 50-megawatts (MW) of power in the next three years under its retail energy business.
By 2020, the energy firm should reach its target goal of power capacity of 2,000 MW in both its conventional and RE profiles.
