Palauig Solar, ACEN’s second biggest solar farm, aims to harness Zambales’ growth potential for clean energy and support the Philippines’ rising power demand. The project is located in an area with one of the highest irradiance zones in the Philippines.

ACEN donates 2 school buildings to address classroom shortage in Palauig, Zambales

Through its Palauig Solar projects, ACEN demonstrated its unwavering support to education and community development after donating a total of ₱29 million to fund the construction of 14 classrooms in Rofulo M. Landa High School – extension campus in Brgy. Bulawen, Palauig, Zambales.

ACEN president and CEO Eric Francia joined Zambales governor Jun Ebdane, Palauig mayor Billy Aceron, and Botolan mayor Omar Ebdane during the recent turnover ceremony of a newly constructed building, which is composed of eight classrooms.

ACEN adds 300 MW renewables capacity in Palauig Solar


24 January 2023 – ACEN boosts its renewable energy portfolio in its home country, the Philippines, with the start of construction of the 300 MW Palauig Solar 2 located in Zambales.

In proximity to ACEN’s operating 63 MW Palauig Solar 1, the cost of the new development, including the construction of the 1,200 MW transmission line, is estimated at ₱16 billion.

Our Palauig Solar in Zambales is among our five solar farms across the Philippines that implement the ”Solar Gulayan” agrivoltaics program, which combines solar power and agriculture to improve local food security while generating renewable energy.

Together with other ACEN solar plants – Alaminos Solar in Laguna, and IslaSol, MonteSol and SacaSol in Negros – Palauig Solar has since enjoyed plentiful harvest since the program rolled out in 2022. The harvested crops include pechay, radish, bell pepper, eggplant, okra, sweet potato, banana, bottle gourd, peanut, papaya, taro, tomato, alugbati, mustard, Chinese cabbage, tiger baby melon, squash, ampalaya, turmeric, mung bean, longyard beans, pineapple, lemon, lime, calamansi and more.

Advocating education resiliency


Through its Brigada Eskwela program, Palauig Solar continues to support the students of its host community in Palauig, Zambales by donating heavy-duty printers, various printing supplies, and healthcare kits to five elementary schools within its two host barangays.

Beneficiaries for this program include indigenous children who live in the Mr. Pinatubo resettlement area. Through this program, we make sure our host communities’ learners are ready as classrooms reopen in a post-pandemic world.
