Ancillary services
ACEN operates thermal peaking plants to complement its renewable projects and ensure power reliability. These plants help balance the fluctuating power requirements by operating during periods of high level demand for electricity and thereby reducing stress on the grid.
ACEN’s operating peaking plants- which include its Luzon thermals and Ingrid Power Pililla – have existing Ancillary Service Procurement Agreements (ASPA) with the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines, enabling each plant to provide reserve power to the Grid.
